Prognosis |
The prognosis in a case with arrhythmia would depend upon the nature and cause of the arrhythmia and in its duration in select situations. |

General Measures |
Treatment of underlying cause like ischaemia, electrolyte disturbances, infections, Hypothermia, Hypothyroidism, Drug-induced as could happen with digitalis, dopamine, Isoprenaline, Adrenaline. Tricyclic antidepressants, Theophylines. Anoxia, Acid base disturbances, Physiologic or Psychologic stress etc., can be responsible and would need management. |

Avoidance of relevant factors stated above. The need for sustained therapy for potentially lethal arrythmias. |

Follow Up |
Depends on nature and cause of arrhythmia being treated. |

Inadequate Response |
To be managed by a cardiologist, preferably in hospital setting. |

|
Prevention |
Of embolisation in arrhythmias with such potential, (like sustained AF) with oral anticoagulants. |
